Meet Katie

During her 10+ years as a college admissions consultant and essay specialist, Katie has successfully helped hundreds of students build their college applications, craft their personal statements and supplemental essays, and most importantly, find their ideal home for the next four years.

Katie was born and raised in Berkeley, spent her early adulthood in New York City, and now lives in beautiful Coronado, CA. After graduating with a BFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University, she entered the field of higher education and college admissions while continuing to pursue her literary career. She worked for both NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering and Columbia University before transitioning fully into college admissions consulting. 

Katie is also a currently-publishing author of young adult contemporary novels, which have been included on multiple state reading lists and received starred reviews from School Library Journal, Kirkus, Booklist, BCCB, and Publisher’s Weekly. Her experience as a working writer provides her with a unique perspective on how personal narratives are formed, which she strives to pass along to college applicants.

Katie believes our world is shaped by the stories we tell, and college admissions is no different–her role is simply to help each student find their own story.
