There are nearly 6,000 colleges and universities in the US alone. It can feel daunting for students and parents to begin exploring them, not to mention determining “best fit” schools or identify the most strategic Early Decision or Early Action plan.

Katie helps her students uncover what qualities matter most to them in a school–academic offerings, location, size, campus culture, and more–in order to build a thoughtful, well-balanced college list.

College admissions essays ask students to think deeply about themselves–their passions, their world views, and the experiences that have shaped them–and to write about their lives with honesty and clarity. There’s nothing Katie loves more than working with students to brainstorm, outline, and craft essays that best illuminate their unique life stories.

Katie brings everything she’s learned as an author and an editor to this process, striving to leave students not only with high-quality essays, but newfound understanding of themselves.

College applications require great attention to detail. Easily overlooked errors can cause an outsized impact on a student’s admissions decision, or even disqualify their application.

Whether students are utilizing the Common Application, the Coalition Application, or any number of state or private college application systems, Katie has seen it all. She works with students and families to ensure all applications are completed according to best admissions practices and submitted ahead of each deadline.

Every student deserves to find an ideal home at college–but sometimes, that isn’t their first college. While these mismatches are unfortunate, they don’t have to be permanent.
